Evaporative air coolers, also called swamp coolers, are a type of mechanical cooling device that uses the evaporation of water to provide cooling. The evaporative air cooler works by drawing in hot air and passing it over a wet pad. The water evaporates and the resulting cooled air is then circulated into the room.
