It should also be avoided that Air Coolers are installed in close alignment with different elevations. If installed on the downwind side of a hot appliance, the problem can be alleviated by blocking the air inlet towards the hot appliance.

When designing an Air Cooler for multiple applications, the conditions of use with maximum pressure drop must first be calculated. This is because the pressure drop in critical applications may limit the maximum tube length. The force load applied to a single tube length for more than one application increases the possibility of design errors. Several trial calculations are required to obtain a valid design. Once the area occupied by multiple Air Coolers has been determined, they are formed into a Table Air Cooling Fan group with a length-to-width ratio of 2 or 3 to 1. After a tube length has been assumed, calculate the pressure drop for the most important usage conditions. If this pressure drop is acceptable or very close, the full calculation is carried out for this important use case. After completion, the same procedure is used to calculate the air-cooling for the next important use. After the second or subsequent use conditions, it is often necessary to lengthen or shorten the tubes or change the entire Air Cooler arrangement.

If the Air Coolers for different applications can be placed in the same base area and there are not too many pipes, they can be combined in the same frame, with a separate bundle for each application, and it is generally cheaper to share only the same fan. Separate louvers can be installed for each use condition to allow for independent regulation. This method is commonly used in the Air Cooler manufacturing industry due to the cost and space savings it offers.
